At Avida Fertility, we understand that infertility is not only a medical challenge, but also an emotional and social challenge. Our comprehensive approach allows us to provide our patients with the support they need at every stage of the process. We are moved by a conviction: we live in an era of unprecedented possibilities. Today, we enjoy higher life expectancies, lower infant mortality rates, better education, and a world with less poverty and hunger than ever before in history.
In vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment involves several essential steps designed to maximize your chances of success:
Medication treatment is given to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs that mature and are ready for collection.
A sperm sample is obtained (or donor sperm is thawed), and a procedure is performed under sedation to collect eggs from the ovaries.
Eggs combine with sperm in the lab to be fertilized.
The embryos are developed in the laboratory for 5-6 days or are frozen for future embryo transfer (FET).
The embryos are transferred to the uterus to attempt pregnancy.
Two weeks after the embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is performed to confirm the results.
